Clear Trivalent Passivate for Zinc-Nickel Finishes
Dipsols IZ-264 trivalent passivate is uniquely formulated to provide a dense thin film barrier layer at a pH range of 4.0 - 4.4 while operating at room temperature. Compared to competitive processes requiring elevated temperatures and a low pH below 2.5, the IZ-264 outperforms in both bath life and operating costs by greatly diminishing the build up of zinc and iron contaminates that result in poor appearance and corrosion performance and necessitate more frequent new solution make ups.
The IZ-264 passivate exceeds major OEM requirements over both acid and alkaline zinc-nickel rack and barrel applications, even after post heat treatment applications. This two component system maintains the highest levels of corrosion and thermal performance in demanding everyday production operations.
The IZ-264 passivate imparts a blue, slightly iridescent appearance over either acid or alkaline zinc-nickel finishes. It is compatible with Dipsols full line of post passivate topcoats and friction modifiers.
