NiPtef is a codeposition plating with Kanigen® nickel as the matrix-material in order to obtain specific functional characteristics.NiPtef is an alternative approach to reduce the dificulties of friction and wear, by incoporating a "lubrificant", in fact PTFE, into the nickel-matrix.When PTFE is supported correctly by a hard matrix-material such as Kanigen® nickel,the wear of the NiPtef codeposition layer is very slight.The wear and friction characteristics of the coating are determined by the combination of properties of two materials. Hardness an lubrication by the nickel-phosphor alloy and a very low friction coefficient by means of the PTFE-particles.During the separation process,PTFE-particles with a diameter of 0,2 à 0,3 µm are incorporated homogeneously into the Kanigen® nickelmatrix.

Kanigen® Nickel is a technical coating, composed of Nickel (Ni) and phosphor (P: wt%= 9 to 12%). This plating is applied using a chemical (electroless) process.
