Complex geometries of components can help to reduce the number of parts and therefore reduce the cost and risks of assembly. Traditional solutions are based on light metals like aluminium or magnesium, which are dye casted and then reworked by CNC manufacturing. With metal coated polymer parts made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) we are able to not only reduce weight but also cost, since complex geometries can be realized by injection molding without further rework in large quantities. PPS meets the required fire protection class UL94 V0 without any further additives and with suitable copper and nickel plating the high requirements of EMI shielding in electric vehicles can be met as well.
Biconex offers the coating service of PPS components starting from single samples up to large series for automotive demands. Visit our booth to see more!
